Citizens of Ward 5,

Thank you for allowing me to serve as your 5th Ward City Councilperson. As you likely know, I am running for re-election this year and would be honored to serve another term on the council. I hope I have earned your respect and your commitment to vote for me in this year’s election. I have and will continue to stand up and advocate on your behalf for the opportunities to improve Ward 5 and our city. I will continue to turn our challenges into opportunities to improve in the areas of crime, parks, housing, taxes and environmental issues. I want to continue to lead as a fair, open councilperson who listens to you and works for your dreams for a better Rochester.

By getting to know me, you will see my commitment to making this city great. My family and I have been involved and invested in the Rochester community our entire lives. I am proud to have been born, raised and educated in Rochester. I take every opportunity I can to volunteer with organizations that make our city better including Camp Olson YMCA, Friends of Silver Lake, Rochester Track Club, Rochester Area Foundation, Rochester Arts Center, Friends of Mayowood, Habitat for Humanity and many others. I have a strong background in innovation, construction, facilitation, collaboration and instruction. I continue to volunteer, work, learn, teach and support the people of our community as much as possible.

My leadership experience and knowledge is ready to handle the tough decisions that will come with this position. In the past I have strived to serve as a fair and impartial leader in the Rochester Council and I will continue to serve, volunteer in the community, and encourage city staff to try new approaches to old problems. I look forward to hearing from everyone in Ward 5 with their opinions about the issues.

It would be my honor to continue to serve as your Ward 5 councilperson. I encourage you to contact me with any questions or comments. Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Shaun
